There is something about small, intricate details in an aquascape that really brings it to life! Regardless of if you're trying to simulate an inundated forest floor, creating gan attachment surface for aquatic mosses, or building up an interesting substrate to spawn and rear wood-loving Plecos, we're sure you'll find a thousand reasons for "Twenty Pieces!"
And, they're not just "any old twigs", either. These are from Oak trees, with a little bit of texture and character in each one! It's that sort of "character" that really creates interesting detail in your aquascapes! We're using them currently in our Green Neon Tetra "igapo" (flooded forest floor) biotope, and they look amazingly cool!
Probably are most precisely-named product, "Twenty Twigs" is just that- twenty nicely random little twigs, ranging ranging in size from less than 2 inches (5.08cm) up to 10 inches (25.4cm)! This is a nice amount to scatter about the bottom of your tank and create texture and realism.
Preparation is pretty easy: We like to boil them for about 15 mixtures, then let them sit in the water until they sink easily. Give 'em a quick rinse, and you're good to go! Even after steeping/boiling, there will still be some leaching of tannins, which we obviously see as a big plus! They may recruit some biofilms as they age, which is obviously an extra benefit to shrimp and some other grazing fishes!
These are not just twigs. They're "aquascaping accessories!"
