Okay, so we’re known to geek out about lots of ridiculous things...but really, what aquatic hobbyist wouldn’t have a million ideas for some good old Asian driftwood? That's what we thought when one of our trusted suppliers approached us with a supply of this interesting wood!
Our specimens are derived from Combretum quadrangulare, a tree commonly found throughout Southeast Asia, and perfect for aquarium and vivarium use! We have a nice assortment of these attractive “we pick ‘em for you” pieces available- at a really great price that makes geeky experiments affordable- and fun!
We have three sizes: “Nano”- sized ( approx. 6”-10”/15.24-25.4cm), "Medium-sized (approx. 10"- 14"/ 26cm-36cm), and "Large"-sized (approx. 15"- 20"/38.10-50cm).
Now, like all driftwood, this wood needs preparation before you can use it in your aquarium. It will need some scrubbing to clean and some prolonged soaking to get it to sink, because it's very lightweight and rather bouyant. The good news is that, with their rather diminutive size, you can fit the "nano sized" pieces into a large cooking pot to boil them, making their preparation process a bit faster!
These pieces are perfect for helping form a focal point in small aquatic displays, or interesting accents in our larger aquariums and vivariums. With their nice shapes, textures, and colors, you're sure to come up with a bunch of applications for them! We hand-select choice specimens for you from our inventory. These are pieces we'd totally want in OUR tanks! It's actually hard to sell them, to be honest- we're quite geeky about this stuff! The medium ones are quite large, and really are niece pieces!
We KNOW that you'll love them, too!
All of our aquatic botanicals are intended for ornamental aquarium or terrarium use only. Please use common sense and take the time to boil or soak all botanicals prior to using them, to reduce the possibility of problems. Always go slow when introducing any botanicals into your systems, so you can judge the effect they have on your fishes and plants. They are not intended for human consumption. DO NOT INGEST!
