Bantigue Root - Hand Selected Specimens

The tangled roots of the mangrove species, Pemphis acidula, create an amazing-looking, highly durable complement to all sorts of wood. Known throughout the Indo Pacific as "Bantigue"(bahn-TEE-geh), it's very unique. A bit less "pliable" than Melastoma roots, and darker in color and morphologically thicker looking than our "Tangle Branch Wood", these roots are perfect for all sorts of aquascaping projects! To our knowledge, this variety has not been available in the hobby before.

Extremely resistant to rot, Bantigue wood is used in its native range for a variety of construction projects, ranging from fence posts to ship building. In the aquarium, these are surprisingly long-lasting roots that can be used as a "standalone" solution, or as a "superstructure" for other roots and wood to be placed upon. Great for terrarium or aquarium use! 

These pieces range in size between 10"- 15"(25.40cm-38.1cm) or so.
