These are yet another botanical, derived from the useful Nypa Palm. The "inflorescence", or flower, that is part of the fruit cluster of the palm, these are essentially like leaves in their "heft", appearance, and use. However, they are slightly longer-lasting, and will break down more slowly than leaves in most systems, while performing a similar role.
They look perfect in virtually any tropical biotope, representing the types of materials which fall from overhanging trees and accumulate on the substrate. They're about 5" (12.7cm) in length, and 1.25"(3.17) wide on average.
When incorporated into your biotope, they're perfect for providing foraging and hiding areas for fish and shrimp, which will pick at them as they soften and decompose.
PREPARATION: Much like leave, you can either soak them in room temperature freshwater for a few days to sink them, or better- simply boil them for at least 20-30. They tend to last longer when soaked, as opposed to being boiled, however.

All of our aquatic botanicals are intended for ornamental aquarium or terrarium use only. Please use common sense and take the time to boil or soak all botanicals prior to using them, to reduce the possibility of problems. Always go slow when introducing any botanicals into your systems, so you can judge the effect they have on your fishes and plants. They are not intended for human consumption. DO NOT INGEST!
