Tannin "Mixed Leaf Media" Crushed Leaf Litter Supplement

Now you've seen it all, right? Crushed leaves? Really?

Well, before you laugh...think about it, okay? This is a really useful product.

Perhaps you want to do a nano tank with some small leaves...like, really small leaves-or pieces of them. Or maybe you simply want to build up a more 'enriched" substrate by including some leaf materials- but you don't want to use a whole bunch of large leaves...Or maybe, just maybe- you like the "tint" that leaves bring, but you don't want to have those leaves in your tank. You'd rather keep them in a filter sock, reactor, or other location outside of the display itself.  Perhaps you want to try a new substrate for breeding killies. Or maybe, you want a little supplemental food for your favorite Caridina shrimp! Maybe you want to experiment with them as "mulch" for a planted aquarium...For all of these reasons, and dozens we can't even think of at the moment- we offer you Tannin "Mixed Leaf Media."

This "media" is derived from our "B grade" leaves. You know, the ones that have too many rips, tears, or holes in them for us to sell alone, or in our variety packs. They may be in rough shape, but they still deliver "the tint", right? Yeah, that's what we thought. So...we crush them up even more. We started playing around with this melange of mashed-up leaves and found all sorts of cool uses for it. And we think you will, too!

Simply, a "variety pack" of some of the different types of leaves we offer- Catappa, Guava, Loquat, Jackfruit, and Magnolia- in a convenient "crushed" form. You can get a nice variety of leave types- and hence, their unique tannin-producing attributes- all in one small pack. We sell it in 1 ounce packages, so you can get maximum variety and utility! Pair it with one of our 800-micron filter media bags for an easy way to drop some tint-prodding leaves into your top-off water storage, or to prep a breeding tank for your Bettas, or...

Yeah, we figured you'd get the idea.

Prep "MLM" like you would any of our other leaf products, with a 10-minute steep in boiling water, or an overnight soak in freshwater, followed by a quick rinse. Easy. Simple. Useful.

All of our aquatic botanicals are intended for ornamental aquarium or terrarium use only. Please use common sense and take the time to boil or soak all botanicals prior to using them, to reduce the possibility of problems. Always go slow when introducing any botanicals into your systems, so you can judge the effect they have on your fishes and plants. They are not intended for human consumption. DO NOT INGEST!

NOTE: Due to natural variations of leaves, each one will appear different. The photo is a representation of what to expect.
