"Mini" Coco Palm Bracts, like their bigger brothers, are "featherweight" botanicals, which are essentially like leaves in their texture, appearance, and use. Tiny specimens of the bract (a modified leaf) of the Coco Palm (Cocos nucifera),these are fabulous for a variety of aquatic/vivarium applications!
They could work really nicely in a "nano-sized" aquarium, perhaps even comprising the majority of a leaf litter bed, in which you could mix in other small leaves and botanicals as the exclusive substrate, perhaps with "Fundo Tropical" and a bit of fine sand to hold 'em all together!
They're variable, ranging from about .75" (1.90cm) in length, and 1.75" (4.44cm) wide on average.
PREPARATION: You can either waterlog them with a 1-2 week room temperature freshwater soak, or better- boil them for at least 30 minutes before use.
ORIGIN: South America /Asia
NOTE: These are a natural product, and display variation in color, size, and texture. Each pod is unique! The photo serves as a reasonable representation of what to expect.
All of our aquatic botanicals are intended for ornamental aquarium or terrarium use only. Please use common sense and take the time to boil or soak all botanicals prior to using them, to reduce the possibility of problems. Always go slow when introducing any botanicals into your systems, so you can judge the effect they have on your fishes and plants. They are not intended for human consumption. DO NOT INGEST!
